Description 1914 trio – 1st Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Originally forfeited medals due to self inflicted wounds on the 9th October 1914. 1914 Star, 10183 L. Cpl T. Oliver. K.S.L.I.; British War and Victory Medals, 10183 Pte T. Oliver K.S.L.I. Thomas Oliver landed in France on the 10th September 1914 serving in the 1st Battalion Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. In less than a month he is noted as suffered from “Self Inflicted Wounds” He received the Silver War Badge numbered B5578 The medal rolls show he served in both the 1st and 2nd battalions, and that his medals were originally forfeited on Cat B (For self inflicted maiming) But were reinstated. He was discharged on the 9th September 1918 Condition – VF
