Description VAOF22 Fused Quartz Long Path Length Cuvette is a 2-window cuvette with a 50 mm optical path length and a 22 ml volume. This model belongs to our specialized series of long-path absorption cuvettes, designed to provide significantly enhanced sensitivity for trace-level analyte detection. Fused fabrication ensures excellent thermal and chemical durability, making it ideal for demanding analytical environments. Why Long Path Length Matters Long path length cuvettes are especially useful when working with **low-concentration or trace samples**, where standard 10 mm cuvettes provide insufficient absorbance signals. Based on the Beer–Lambert Law (A = ε × c × l), extending the optical path length directly increases absorbance, allowing even weak signals to be detected accurately. For example, when a 1 cm cuvette gives a near-zero absorbance for a dilute sample, a 5 cm cuvette can amplify that signal several times, enabling precise quantification. This is particularly valuable for: Trace pollutant and nutrient detection in environmental water samples (e.g., nitrates, phosphates, heavy metals). Low-concentration analyte measurements in pharmaceutical, biological, or material science research. Improving signal-to-noise ratio and extending linear detection ranges. Experiments requiring ultra-high sensitivity with stable optical alignment. Key Features 50 mm optical path length — extends the light path to amplify absorbance, increasing sensitivity for trace detection. 2-window design — optimized for straight-beam UV/VIS absorbance measurements. Fused fabrication — provides exceptional resistance to heat (up to 600 °C) and most chemical environments. Long-path configuration — ideal for environmental monitoring, trace analysis, and high-precision applications. Broad wavelength range — 190 – 2500 nm, suitable for UV/VIS and NIR spectroscopy. Typical Applications Trace analyte detection in water and environmental samples. UV/VIS absorbance spectroscopy for low-concentration measurements. Pharmaceutical and chemical research requiring enhanced sensitivity. Long-path detection setups for regulatory or QA/QC testing. Advanced optical experiments in R&D laboratories. Fused Fabrication Notes Fused fabrication ensures superior optical clarity, chemical resistance, and heat stability. Not suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF) or strong organic solvents such as toluene and acetone. Powder seams may discolor over time but do not affect measurement performance. Typical path length tolerance is ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
