Description This is an excellent condition, all-original U.S. M1917 Trench Fighting Knife by L.F.&C (Landers, Frary, and Clark). The knife comes with an original scabbard that’s in excellent condition as well. This example features a beautiful black triangular shaped blade with factory finish mostly intact throughout each side. Minimal surface patina and clean edges throughout. Minor scabbard rub wear with a small amount of surface rust that could easily be cleaned off if one wanted to do so. The hand guard is maker stamped L.F.&C and dated 1917. The wood handle is clean and in great shape with no cracks or chips. The scabbard is marked on the leather is marked “JEWELL 1918” and has all original stitching intact along the seam. This scabbard is one of best I have ever seen, over all a very nice example that is over 100 years old, this would be very hard to upgrade to a nicer example!
