Imperial German WWI Bavarian Calvary Officer Sword w/ Etched Blade

Description From the period of Mad Prince Ludwig circa (1864-1886.) This sword has a brass hilt with line bordered D form guard. Wire wrapped ray skin covered grip measures 31”, plated straight blade with double narrow fullers. This example has a beautiful broad angled ribbon motif with IN TREUE FEST motto alternating with Black Forest foliage. The tip has some with plating worn and gray patina, otherwise excellent throughout, especially for being over 100 years old!
