Description Imperial German World War 1 period M1898/05 “Butcher” Mauser bayonet. The blade has no manufactures marks, the blade is dark with original finish and has not been sharpened, the blade spine shows a space indicating this was previously a saw back type before being removed from the factory. The end of the hilt shows a small army inspection stamp. This is one of the nicest examples I’ve personally come across, the blade being unsharpened and almost full of finish would lead me to believe this was an unissued example. An amazing piece that’s over 100 years old!
