Description Amazing 1937 pattern, 52 x 46 in. double-sided, multi-piece cotton construction Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF), or German Labor Front unit Standarte flag, trimmed to all but the hoist edge in 2.25 in. long twisted silver/aluminum wire fringe. The flag features a red field upon which is sewn a white-bordered, black DAF cogwheel with a white circular field and a black mobile swastika sewn to its center on both sides. Both sides also have in the hoist corners a light brown wool patch with a white chain stitched location in Gothic script; ‘Neckarbischofsheim‘, this is a town in Baden-Wurttemberg. This patch is trimmed in blue cotton tress, signifying the ‘Ortsgruppe‘ level. Seven metal loops for attaching to a pole remain present. Truly a remarkable flag with a couple small moth nips, overall it’s about as nice as they come!
