Description Nice mid war period example of a Heer (Army) visor cap worn by an Officer in a Pioneer Division. High quality wool base pipes in black for Pioneer troops with wool green band, the band has a period sewn bullion cocarde. Above it is the original aluminum eagle. There is no major holes or stains to the body of the visor. The liner shows a worn but solid leather sweat band with a tear. This would benefit from being put on a hat stretcher to help the cap and band to be properly reshaped. Inside we see the manufacturer logo for GBA Meister Klasse. There is also a tag in the sweat diamond showing the soldiers name of “ Lieutenant Christ” and the size of 57. Couple wool nips on the very edge of the caps edge rim, other than this it’s very clean. Note – When found the cap had a piece of cloth covering the eagle being held on by pins, why I do not know, I removed it which is why there are a few small pin holes on the front. Over time they won’t be noticeable.
