Description Large sized M35 blue Luftwaffe steel helmet in worn condition, freshly pulled from the woodwork here locally, (never been in a collection). Both decals are present but the eagle took a large knock during the war. Complete with aluminum liner, dated 1939 and a combat cut chinstrap dated 1938. Honest, untouched, uncleaned M35 DD helmet in a huge size of 68, this would be a perfect candidate for an early war combat mannequin display! The rim is marked by SE, in the size of 68. Lot number in the rear: 4766. Note – During the early stages of the war an extra layer of grey/blue paint was applied to cover the glossy M35 blue pattern coating. This is something I have seen many of these early Luftwaffe helmets and was actually a ‘first pattern’ type of camouflage used during the first stages of the war!
