Description This is a nice early nickel-silver Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s Belt & Buckle (Koppel mit Koppelschloß). This is an early (circa 1932-1934) die stamped, solid nickel/silver construction, box belt buckle. The buckle features a smooth background with a high relief, embossed SS style national eagle surrounded by the script ‘Meine Ehre heißt Treue!’ (My Honour is Loyalty!). On the reverse, the buckle is nicely maker marked with the stamped initials ‘O&C’, indicating production by the company of ‘Overhoff & Cie’ from Lüdenscheid, the buckle is also marked with ‘ges. gesch.’. This buckle is in good used condition showing some age patina and clear signs of being worn during the period.
