Early Luftwaffe Pilot Flight Suit by (Striegel & Wagner K.G. ‘Striwa’)

Description Very nice and light worn Luftwaffe flight suit executed in soft suede-style cloth (not leather). Shows light wear but remains in overall very good condition. All zippers are present, as are the buttons. Most of the zipper buckles are marked by Rapid or Zipp. The interior is not lined indicating this would be a warm climate or “summer weight” type set. Maker marked on label by Striegel & Wagner K.G. Lichtenfels / Bayerische Ostmark ‘Striwa’. Dated 1941. Small repair on the rear bottom but nothing too crazy. These suits are very hard to encounter, typically they are seen in photographs of the early invasion of France/Poland. This example shows rank sleeve insignia indicating the original pilot was an Officer rank of Hauptmann (Capitan.) Rare opportunity on a seldom found flight suit that would be great on a mannequin display!
